Just hanging there...

...and you?

Not long ago I was thinking, of how I have no clue what some of my close friends actually do in life, and that I never asked; Because as soon as you do ask people what they're up to, professional wise, they'll throw the same question back at you, and then what!?
I remember specific occasion, when I've been asked exactly that, and without even thinking, I simply answered with ''I don't know'', and didn't even contemplate on it, until the very person I was talking with pointed it out as ''You don't know what you're doing in your life...?''
That's my stage of making friends and valuable connections, I guess, or rather why I'm so bad at making them.

The thing is, I actually do all kind of things, which is hard to wrap up into a short answer. Like there are these things that you do, if possible few times a week, that bring you money, but aren't really worth talking about. And then there are those other things, you do with your whole heart and soul, opportunities where you can express your creativity, the little tasks you're really good at, ...but well, don't feed much more than your heart and soul and not really anyone else around you.

Somehow I mostly ended up telling people I'm a graphic designer, something sleek, creative, expressive, interesting, but yet, not that interesting that people would discuss it to much. It landed me a job or two, even though I was always avoiding coming to this, like (what is the expression) devil avoids the graphic design.

I mean, have you ever seen a happy graphic designer!? Not in the world where I studied, for no more then 3 months, before I got so sick and jaded of it, I left my home and turned my life completely around, strongly decided I'm never coming back to the violet building where this design school was held.

Did I regret it? Not for a moment and not for a minute. It's true I have no clue what am I doing since then, but I guess, I'm just hanging there... and for now it's just fine.

  9. I love how you wrapped this story in these pictures :) Actually I have seen couple of happy (very happy) graphic designers! Ahaha ^_^ I'm in a similar field, but maybe more tech and strategic - I design user experiences (apart from writing a fashion blog on the free time). I really like job as a profession, especially when it comes to problem solving! The bad side (same as with your job) is probably that you need to spend a lot of time in front of a computer. But I guess all jobs are like that these days :/
